About Us

About the Blog

Our Baby of Love documents the memorable journey with our son Darius from the day he was conceived (just two lines on the pregnancy kit!) through the days we were expecting his arrival, and all our precious moments together as a family.

I’ve always wanted to start a blog when I discovered parenting blogs while trying to conceive. So the moment I successfully conceived, I started the blog to document the pregnancy journey only known to a few close friends.

It held my feelings about my pregnancy and educational information I found. It opened to the public and became searchable on the world wide web when our son was conceived. Vincent also took over the writing about my birth story and the first few days of my hospitalisation. Since then, we started co-writing together. He blogs about Darius’ developments, his thoughts as a father, and our outings. I blog about how we care for him, his first foods, and now his learning and everyday snippets.

Photos & Videos

It is an important part of our blog as we believe in decorating a post visually. Most photos and videos are now taken with the DSLR Panasonic Lumix GF-1 from Nov 2009 while older pictures or occasional pictures and videos were taken with the Canon Digital IXUS 860IS point-and-shoot camera. All pictures are brightened further & resized in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 or Premier 7 for posting on the blog.

Our Little Details

Location: North of Singapore

Daddy Vincent (Wavesurfer)

Is a graduate of Computer Engineering and working in a family-friendly manufacturing firm. He enjoys blogging about his memorable times with his family and plays the Xbox 360 and PSP during his free time. He is also finding time and energy to prepare for his upcoming IPPT. He feels he is fortunate to have found a fantastic wife and blessed to be bestowed with such a wonderful child. He is learning to count his blessings everyday.

Mummy Catherine (Dreamycat)

Is a graduate of Biochemistry. She has worked as a relief teacher in Primary&Secondary School, as an admin & HR admin. After marriage, she stayed home as a freelance illustrator and animator for cartoon anime portraits and montages for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and celebrations. Her art skills are self-taught as she had never studied an art course.

Now she has taken time off from her freelance work to concentrate fully at being a full-time mother for Darius. Drawing which was her utmost passion is now slightly taken over by photography. She is also interested in music and anything to do with people. In her free time, she loves to surf the web for information on parenting and children’s development and enjoys reading blogs by mothers and artists.

Both of us are Catholics, Dreamycat from Birth and Wavesurfer by Faith. We believe our child is a gift from God as he was miraculously given to us after we had been ttcing for a long while.

Our son Darius arrived on 15th July 2008 at Thomson Medical Centre, delivered through an emergency caesarean section at 2239hrs. He weighed 3.22kg and measured 51cm in length. He has the eyes and chin of his mummy, and the nose and lips of his daddy. He never fails to bring joy to our family, and often amazes us with his new feats.
