Just He and Me

Catherine needed to be out to make preparations for her upcoming job today so it was just Darius and me at home for the early half of the day. Though I’m not at all worried over taking care of him alone, it has been quite a while since we were alone in the house for more than half a day, I thought it would be interesting to just document it down.

Before she left, Catherine had prepared the porridge for Darius so his lunch and dinner wouldn’t be an issue. After she left, we started reading some books and play games until around 11am.

Darius had woken up very early today at 5.45am (and in the process, waking me up too) so I scheduled an early lunch so he could have his nap earlier. While I fed him his porridge, I decided to play our newly bought Leapfrog’s Talking Words Factory DVD. It was the first time I was watching it and probably the third time for Darius, when he was with Catherine.

The DVD even comes with a word game

He instantly got mesmerised by the entertaining and educational show and was reading out a number of words that were being shown. His mouth had not stopped opening for his next mouthfuls of porridge though so he finished his lunch in time when the show ended.

I then brought him to the restroom to wash his mouth, bring him to pee and brush his teeth, before putting him onto his mattress for his nap. It didn’t take long for him to fall asleep in the midst of my Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star songs.

Sweet dreams~

When he woke up two hours later, I was also in a slumber, trying to catch my much needed rest to compensate for the short and interrupted sleep the night before. My tiredness was also probably a result of sleeping late and waking up early over the week.

Fortunately, Darius managed to keep himself entertained most of the time while I closed my eyes to rest. Occasionally, he would pop up on our bed and started climbing over me to give me a hug or smile.

After several of his lovey-dovey actions,  I decided to bring him down for a walk, since he was looking pretty bored. The moment I said, “我们去走走吧!”, Darius immediately dashed out of the room excitedly and happily. He must had been waiting for me to give in to his ‘harrassments’ and agreeing to bring him out! ^^

Just when we were about to leave the house, Catherine called to update me that she had finished her tasks. I thus suggested meeting up at our nearest MRT Station so that she could have her very late lunch and Darius could get his long-awaited walk with the both of us on the way back.

Darius didn’t really show much excitement initially when he saw his mummy after half a day of absence, but soon revealed how much he had missed her when he was happily enjoying her company as we made our way back home. ^^

Darius was so happy to see his mum again! ^^
