Darius and I were at Kiddy Palace on one afternoon while Catherine was shopping for her clothes before our A’Famosa trip. Darius was as usual, running around the place merrily. Since the shop’s primary clients are children (though it’s their parents paying for the products), I’m sure the staff wouldn’t mind another toddler roaming around~
When he came to a section selling toy vehicles, Darius suddenly stopped running and stretched his arms towards one of the shelves that was located at his eye level. When I lowered myself to see what caught his attention, I saw this ‘bendy bus’ toy that Darius was holding tight to.
He appeared to have fallen in love with the bus at first sight and even though I tried showing him some other toy buses I’ve found, his heart was only affixed to this particular bus (anyway this seemed to be last stock available since I couldn’t locate any of its ‘siblings’).
The other toy buses that I showed him were actually ‘better’ as in the doors could be opened and the modeling was of better quality (and thus more expensive) but Darius was only interested in that very first bus he saw. Catherine and I also have this tendency to set our hearts on the first item that catches our eyes during shopping so it appears that Darius has inherited our characters too! ^^
I then brought the toy bus to the cashier to purchase it while trying my best to calm Darius down as he was thinking that I had snatched it away from him. Catherine was wanting to open it only after we get home but when we saw how he was kissing the bus through the casing, we immediately opened it for him. So he could hug and touch his newest darling to his heart’s content. ^^|

Why the Bendy and not other types of buses? Cos it looks exactly like the buses he takes everyday to school and most of the time.
It’s been some time and starting from a few days ago, he became obsessed with the bus, holding it all the time. He held it while he was eating, while he was hugging us(got a few ‘ouches’ from it when he held the bus and banged against us), even to the bathroom doing his poo. If we take away the bus to let him do other stuff, he would whine and throw angry tantrums.
The bus was named ‘Happy Bus’ and he knew how to read the word, ‘Happy’ printed on it too.
We had to keep it away two nights ago because the window structures where he was holding at the front and back had broken off(it was really cheaply made) and the edges were jagged. He might cut himself accidentally while playing with it. We might get him another bus(a better bendy one) but we are a little pissed with his obssession and wish to hold out a little more.
He hadn’t shown obvious signs of missing it and had gone onto other vehicles ( a smaller bus and some small cars). This is really the first time he’s so into a toy.
