The month of June every year, we have two dates to celebrate.
This coming Sunday, we will be heading to our next overseas trip with Darius , going to the A’Famosa Resort in Malacca, Malaysia. Besides taking this as an opportunity to relax before both of us will be occupied with our full-time jobs, this trip also acts as a celebration for our wedding anniversary. We have been officially married for 7 years since 2003 and was married in church one year later, also in June. ^^
Following Genting Highlands and Langkawi, this will be our third trip overseas with Darius. Making use of our previous experiences (especially those from Langkawi), we should be even more well prepared for this upcoming trip.
However, this will be the first time we are traveling on a coach (Genting was by car, Langkawi by plane) so there will still be uncertainties involved, like whether he will be able to sit still patiently throughout the 3-hour-plus journey (though we will be expecting meal breaks in between). Hopefully he will be sleeping most of the time so that any possible fuss will be kept to a minimum. This is quite likely as Darius seems to have this habit of falling asleep while on board moving vehicles, especially buses. ^^|
Since seats are arranged in pairs on the coach (instead of three seats together), we did not get a coach ticket for Darius (not required for children < 90cm, which he’s on the borderline). Catherine and I wouldn’t want our family of three to be sitting separately, especially when the one sitting on another row could feel awkward and out of touch with the rest As a result, Darius will be sitting on my lap throughout or during most of the journey. Let’s hope my thighs won’t get too numb after the prolonged weighing down on them by Darius! ^^|
There could also be the issue of peeing him. Although we will let him wear disposables instead of his usual training pants or cloth diapers (disposables can hold more liquid in case he could not hold his bladder in the midst of the journey), he might still not want to pee into them. We will be bringing a small container to catch his pee if he chooses to only pee outside the confines of the diaper.
Besides the coach rides, the rest of our trip should be smooth sailing so we should be able to just sit back, relax and have fun at the resort with Darius! Most of the meals and entrance fees have already been taken care of in the tour package so we won’t have to worry about those stuff, unlike in Langkawi.
Alright, signing off now. We will be looking forward to SUNDAY! ^^

Thank you Brownie and Linda MT!
We just came back from the trip and will be posting on it soon!
Hey Vincent, recommend u a good container to be his “mobile potty” during the journey. Recycle those “Soya beancurd” containers which we buy and pack away. It comes with a lid too. Tried and tested, very useful!
Enjoy ur coming trip… :>
Anonymous,
Thanks for the advice! In fact, I did bring one of those containers for his peeing for the trip! (Though didn’t get to use it in the end) ^^
