Just when we thought he is comfortable in the new shoes (see “New Shoes“) and would not fall again, he fell when I took him out for a walk on Sunday behind our flat. Not sure why but he tends to trip on his own foot once he starts running. Sigh. And his knees were badly scrapped. He was so in pain that he kept pulling his pants and try to touch his knee caps.
This has happened countless times lately. Every time he walks, he trips. Sometimes, two times in a row, just tripped and tripped again. Is it a condition we should worry about? He has been walking fine and only fell occasionally but it has been more lately because he started dashing in front.
Then, the ultimate fall came yesterday. He fell down when he made a dash and ‘flew’ in front a little, banging his head on the pavement and had dirt on his lips. Luckily, he did not hurt his teeth.

During those times he fell, I used a Pigeon wet wipe (specially meant for faces & hands) to wipe away the dirt and blood because we were far away from home. Then, we would still continue the walk because he would usually fall when we were just starting the walk or when just getting out of the house. It would be disappointing to return back.
After this scrapping incident, I told Hubby we have to bring plasters and Zam-Buk (herbal balm) out but yesterday, we forgot all about it. As we were going for dinner, we could only wipe his forehead clean and comfort him.

** Ouch ** that seems a painful bruise on the forehead +_+
Does he also trip when walking barefooted at home? My Yuzhe’s foot is slightly flat, thus he tend to trip often when walking in the house. But when he’s outside with shoes, he can walk better. We’ll be seeking advise from our PD whether his foot is considered flat …
Yes, he is actually flat-footed, same feet as his Papa. I thought in that way, he actually placed his foot firmly on the ground and thus will not lose balance easily? That’s why he started walking very early. He does walk sometimes with his feet pointed inwards like an eight though so maybe it caused him to trip one foot with the other. But this tripping only started very frequently nowadays which made us worried.
He doesn’t trip much at home though, only once or twice where he fell flat on his face. He could even avoid small items on the floor by making u-turns when he run.
That’s why we thought it was a shoe problem. But changing shoes did not help too.
