Or as in Orange

I hadn’t been actively talking to Darius as often as I should. I’m not a chatterbox by nature so in the past, I can remain silent for the whole day and not talk a word til hubby came back.

Thus, most of the day is spent in silence between the two of us unless I play toys with him or read storybooks to him. When I speak it’s always the same sentences, “Come and eat!”, “We go ssshhh (toilet)”, “Don’t touch that!”, “Don’t play with that!” or “What’s the matter?” (all in Mandarin)

So on Monday, while taking out orange to make orange juice for him, I had the sudden inspiration to pass it to him and tell him in English, “this is an orange! Orr…ange”. He repeated after me, “Or..Or”. Ha, his voice was so cute! This is the first time he made this “O” sound. Then, he repeated “Orr..orr…” and broke into giggles himself. I said to him “Orange” again but he just kept saying “Or…or…” so I just said “or…or..” too and he kept laughing.

From that day, this word has been springing up every now and then. He will say this cute “or…or..”,wait for my response and end in laughter. Not sure why it’s so funny but I always laugh too when I hear his cute ors..

Today is the fourth day and I finally managed to record a video. Here’s the video of him saying it and laughing taken with the new camera which does Autofocusing, cool Bokeh!
