This post is not so much about Darius but about me. ^^
In another three weeks time, I’ll be crossing over the hurdle to my big 30s. No more 20-something now, and scrambling to lit up the candles on the cake. ^_~. In the past, a 30 year old person would seemed very old because the average age of mortality is around 60-70. So it would seemed as if we have already lived half of our lives. My dad married at 27 years old and he was considered very old to do that.
I celebrated my 28th birthday with Darius in my tummy around a few weeks old. We were so glad to receive the good news on the 15th of November 2007. (coincidentally, it’s his birthday date)
Then, I celebrated my 29th birthday with Darius when he was 4 months old.

This year, I will be celebrating my 30th birthday with Darius being 16months old at Langkawi! Yeah!
A Mummy photographer whose blog I subscribed to, compiled a list of things she wished to try before she hit the big 3-0 which includes learning boxing or climbing a mountain. I was kinda inspired and starting thinking too whether I have my own list of things to try. There’s certainly many things I want to do but never done due to procrastination, not enough finances or too busy with other stuff.
Since I had put down my work for the time being, I started thinking more about my wants and needs in life. A brief thinking of my list however made me realised that the stuff I wish to try are mostly best done when I don’t have a child or children to look after. I think I would only be able to do them when my kids are all grown up. (I’m not going to look after my grandchildren! It’s enough.)
Here’s some things I would want to do after 30 (must be slightly difficult to achieve):
1) Learn a new skill in art, like painting.
2) Travel the world, get out of Singapore, experience other people’s culture, or really living among them
3) Be better in photography, learn techniques
4) Learn to cook more fantastic dishes
5) Work on a craft, like clay modelling, cross-stitching, sewing own clothes
6) Decorate and remake my house
7) Learn to play a piano
8 ) Watch Plays in theatre, english and chinese
9) Watch an instrument Recital
10) Set up a e-shop selling my own original artwork
11) Go Disneyland with Darius
12) Visit Japan one more time, this time to Hokkaido
13) Visit the Studio Ghibli Museum in Tokyo(didn’t get to go last time) because my favourite animation director Hayao Miyazaki’s works are there.
14) See Snow/Experience the icy landscape for at least once in my lifetime.
I wonder whether all you readers out there had ever done anything special for your big 3-0 day? Or just celebrate it normally like any other day? Care to share with me?
