We are not referring to Orchard Road but of our own house’s Christmas decorations/lights. ^^
I decided to start our annual task of bringing out the dismantled Christmas tree from our storeroom and assemble it in our living room. Unlike the previous years though, it took Catherine and I quite a while to decide where we would place the tree at.
Our previous location has now been taken up by our second PC and our alternative location by the windows would block our pathway leading to them.
After some considerations, we decided to place the tree beside the shoe rack near our main door, just below our Jesus’ cross (how appropriate!). This location would also not block any pathway and yet be visible from anywhere in the living room. Also, the cable for the lightings would hide nicely underneath the shoe rack. Furthermore, we might be able to share the Christmas ambience with our neighbours if we open our main door, since the Christmas tree will be visible from the outside.

While setting up the tree with lights and decorations, Darius was of course curious over the commotion. However, he didn’t dare to get too near to the Christmas tree, at most lightly touching the leaves (they are pointed and can be quite sharp) before scuttling away. ^^|
Noting Darius’ mobility and curiosity, I took care not to put the ornaments at a height where he could easily reach. Also, I’ve avoided placing the fragile ornaments for obvious reasons.
Still, he managed to take down one of the ornaments from the tree while I was placing the other ornaments. Seeing that it was an unbreakable (though it did ‘break’ later on after the parts got detached by him), I just let it be while he rolled the golden ball-like ornament on the ground and fiddled with it. ^^

Meanwhile, Catherine was busying herself by taking shots of us and the decorations with our loaned DSLR camera, taking the opportunity to experiment it further. Darius was alert to notice it and kept trying to avoid getting shot by the camera though. -.-
After the tree had been setup, I proceeded to decorate the nearby walls and cornices. After repeated failures to secure the deco along the cornices, we decided to place the deco on another wall instead, covering parts of the lone window there.

With these simple setup completed and the lights and music running from the Christmas tree, we could feel that Christmas was nearing and the joyous feeling from it.

Erm, we like our Christmas Tree simple so there are not many hanging decorations on it. Maybe we might get more if we really see something we like. The last time we celebrated Christmas (see Our Christmas Tree), Darius was still unable to walk and so could only watch the decorations from afar. We are glad he would be able to get more involved this year round with his mobility. ^^

Darius won't have to just lie there and watch us this year round. ^^
