No, I’m not referring to the term ‘raining cats and dogs’ (though it has been raining quite heavily here since last night), but it’s the real animals that I’m going to talk about.
Through some of Darius’ books, we introduced these animals to him, sometimes using ‘meow meow’ and ‘bow wow wow’ to represent them when he gets to see one in real life. It’s funny how he will get very excited seeing one, and will start make the corresponding sound of ‘meow meow’ or ‘bow wow wow’ before he walks off briskly to start his goose chase on the animal.
As long as he doesn’t get too close to be able touch it with his hands or have risks of getting bitten (just in case), we won’t restrict him from ‘stalking’ the animal. Of course, we must check that the owner (if any) does not mind too.
Here’s a video clip showing Darius chasing after a black cat on one of the nights recently. See how persistent he was in stalking her:
When we finally reached her hideout, we discovered another two kittens, presumely her offsprings. Darius was very curious over the sudden increase in number of his stalking target and couldn’t stop staring at them. ^^

Haha he walked quite a distance chasing the cat. The cat must like Darius that she led him to her hideout.
I think the cat was trying her best to avoid Darius though, cos he accidentally ‘kicked’ her lightly after getting too close to her when I wasn’t noticing. ^^|
