We haveĀ been teaching Darius how to clap since several months back, either by demonstrating him the action or holding his palms to clap. However, he always seemed to be afraid to clap and would resist by refusing to let both his palms touch each other, for reasons we might never know.
It was only until recently that he was no longer resistant, allowing us to hold his hands to touch each other and opening up his palms automatically so that he could successfully perform the clapping action.
It was on Thursday that he finally started to do the clapping all by itself, based on cues by Catherine who sang ‘When you are happy and you know it, clap your hands…” from the famous children song:
Darius might be slow to only achieve this milestone now, but it’s always better than never! ^^
