Tot School

I found this fabulous homepage, 1+1+1=1 Tot School from MamaBliss’ blog and the depth of the materials and all the links are really an eye-opener for me! My brain is virtually exploding with all the new ideas. I can’t read all at once and will keep referring back to them from now on. So many ideas and crafts to do with your toddlers!

I also love Carisa’s weekly updates on Tot School. I realised it’s not much different from what I do for my ‘Lessons With Darius‘ posts weekly too! Just that I update with words instead of pictures and I focus more on the academic stuff when he’s actually also doing other learning from play as well.

One thing I had not yet done with Darius is a ‘lapbook‘ ( a folder that opens up into paper activities relating to the storybook, such as matching, colouring, sequencing, sorting…) based on the books we are reading. I thought he might also be too young for it. The tot books that Carisa made and shared online generously gave me a lot of ideas, alas…I’m not very free to do it with Darius now. Will see how.

I’m SO inspired that I’ll start writing and taking photos to update for the weekly Tot School post from this week onwards. My Learning For Darius posts will be expanded. Actually, I’m surprised too that people are reading my lessons for Darius post…:) They were sooo boring and more of an update for myself to see what I had done with Darius which isn’t much. Will try to update this week’s learning on next Monday!
