We woke up early in the morning, packing up our stuff in preparation for our journey home and preparing the breakfast for Darius.

Bringing his breakfast along, we headed down to Burger King to have our breakfast. After I ordered the food and was trying to prepare his food by mixing his milk with the cereals, we realised we had left the milk powder container in our room! Having no choice, I had to return all the way back there to bring it back. Phew!

After he finished his food, we let Darius roam around the fenced-up area just behind our seats. As the floor was slightly sloping, Darius couldn’t help but kept walking up and down the slope while looking at the surroundings.

Soon after, we returned to our room to wait for our parents-in-law, who returned around noon. We checked-out our rooms and headed for the car park with our luggage. The drive downslope made Catherine and I giddy and we were glad when it was finally over. On the way down, I had noticed there were some ramps (sloping upwards) that were designed to safely stop a vehicle which had gone out of control or experiencing brake failure. It had many tires lined up at the end of the ramp to help minimise any resulting impact. How thoughtful!

After a few hours on the car, we stopped over at a restingpoint with eateries and some shops. We had our lunch there (can’t say it’s delicious but as long as it filled our stomachs…) and bought some tidbits.

About another hour’s car ride, we were nearing the checkpoint. My father-in-law decided to stop by a petrol kiosk to top up his fuel. This was where we saw two roosters roaming around, which we quickly showed to Darius.

Hearing the roosters crowed, Darius seemed to be able to associate them with the ones we encountered in books we read to him. That was a good exposure for him. ^^

We soon crossed the causeway and reached home safely. Phew, what a fun but tiring trip it has been! We were glad we were back home again. So was Darius.
