Catherine and I have been busy packing our stuff over the past hours for our Genting trip, which we will be be embarking in a few hours’ time.

When we first started packing, we thought it was going to be a simple task since it’s a short trip of 3 days and 2 nights. However, we soon realised we were thought too simply after the packing proceeded on.

With Darius in the picture, we discovered that the things we needed to bring a lot more stuff than expected. Just take his feeding for example, besides the MagMag sipping cups, we also have to bring along our half-filled tin of milk powder, slow cooker for cooking his porridge and some food-making tools. On top of that, we are also bringing our kettle to boil water for his consumption since our hotel won’t be providing one in our room.

As we are practising Elimination Communication with Darius, we also have to bring along both cloth diapers and disposable ones (for backup) and his portable toilet seat. We have also copied the MP3 versions of his favourite songs (including lullabies) into my PSP to be played to him when necessary, such as during the journey or in the hotel room for him to eat or sleep well.

Talking about electronic gadgets, another set of items have become necessary for this trip — chargers. The last thing we want would be our gadgets failing to function due to flat battries. We have consolidated all the necessary chargers into a box, include those for our mobile phones, PSP, digital camera and rechargeable batteries for the portable fan. Well, guess that’s the price to pay for relying on these gadgets. ^^|

On another note, I am disappointed to learn that there won’t be any wireless connectivity in our room. Guess we can’t expect much from First World Hotel, a 3-star hotel in the first place. On the bright side, we won’t have to bring along our laptop.

So here is our final luggage contigent — 2 big suitcases, 1 backpack and a recycle bag (not shown in the pic) containing the slow cooker, kettle and food:

Phew! With the packing done, we will be leaving Singapore in the wee hours of the night to get a smoother traffic and also to be able to reach there tomorrow morning. Hopefully the journey will be a smooth and safe one, and that we will have an enjoyable trip with Darius there!
