Darius is full of laughter today! ^^

Phew! I’ve just finally managed to pat Darius to sleep. He was laughing non-stop in his semi-conscious state even while lying on his bed.

Though he had occasionally laughed out a bit during his sleep on some nights, those didn’t last as long as tonight’s. So what made him so happy tonight? Darius could probably be just recalling what had happened today:

Soon after I woke up this morning, papa and mama dressed me up and put me on my stroller, all geared to go out! It appeared that they wanted to go to Toa Payoh for some errands.

After visiting Philips to settle some stuff, we went to mama’s friend’s house and saw her 2-month old boy Dylan. He was so cute and chubby! I wonder if I was like that too when I was this young? ^^|

We then went to the library. Unfortunately, mama couldn’t find the books she wanted to borrow, so we left empty handed. Well, looks like I will be reading some other books for this week instead.

Papa and mama then had their lunch over at the foodcourt opposite. There was this hainese chicken rice stall selling a plate of chicken rice for only S$1.80! That is really cheap, comparing with those I saw at other places!

I could also see that they were quite generous with the portions of the meat, though the amount of rice was slightly little. Still, seeing that papa and mama had enjoyed the food, it must be delicious! If only I could have a taste of that too…

While they were eating, I looked to the outside and saw many tall buildings. Papa was saying that during the time when he stayed in this estate, these buildings weren’t even there yet. He also mentioned of how much he felt Toa Payoh had changed, and coming back here today brought back many of his childhood memories.

We then headed to Kiddy Palace and saw some children’s tables and chairs on display. Papa and mama had wanted to get me one set so this was a good chance for us to test them out before buying.

Mama placed me on one of the chairs. Though I could sit quite well in it, the chair and table felt unsteady and looked like they could crumble anytime. Seeing this, papa and mama decided not to buy the set but look for a suitable one somewhere else instead.

We then took the MRT to Funan, before walking along City Link to reach Esplanade. Mama had mentioned wanting to go there since they had not been there for a long time. As for me, I had never been here before.

There were gardens and wooden walkways and I couldn’t help myself but kept walking around as the wind blew onto me. I felt so free and happy with the vast space and huge sky I see above. I also had a lot of fun running around as papa and mama played ‘Police and Thief’ with me! ^^

I then noticed this slope nearby and couldn’t help but walked to and fro on it many many times. I don’t know why, but I love walking on sloping grounds and also going up and down steps and staircases.

When I saw mama on one end smiling at me, I immediately ran towards her and gave her a big tight hug! I love my mama! ^^

As the night fell, we went down to the area in front of Esplanade. There were many people walking around and the night view from here was beautiful too. Mama held my hand and brought me to some purple lights shining from the ground. I had fun stepping on those lights but as they were a little too glaring for my eyes, we didn’t stay long there.

We then walked along this bridge leading to the Merlion. Whenever there wasn’t many people around us on the bridge, papa and mama would let me walk on my own, so that I could enjoy the scenery and admire the sea.

Reaching the Merlion, I could see water coming out from its mouth and I was very fascinated with it, unable to bring my eyes away. When mama and I walked close to the Merlion to get a better look, a gust of wind blew towards us and water droplets from the Merlion came splashing onto our faces! I was surprised but felt that was funny and couldn’t stop laughing. Mama and papa also laughed with me when they saw my reaction. We sure had a great time there!

Seeing that it’s time for my bedtime, papa and mama decided to head for home.

I had a good warm bath and milk feed before I got onto my bed. Although I was very tired and sleepy already, I couldn’t help but kept recalling today’s happy moments! ^^
