Darius Learns to Dribble

Even before Darius has started to walk independently, we already noticed that he enjoys kicking balls laying on the ground in front of him when we were holding him in a standing/walking position.

Knowing this, we decided to include this ‘ball kicking’ in his recent play activities. Over the past few days, Catherine has started this activity and she commented that Darius was having fun kicking the small plastic balls while he walked.

Wanting to let him try kicking a bigger ball, I used the cloth ball (with a bell inside) which we’ve bought for him when he was just a few months old (it was his first ball) instead.

So here’s what he was doing with the cloth ball:

Darius is in fact more of dribbling the ball than kicking it, and we were jokingly saying that he was acting like a professional soccer player on the field. ^^|

We are glad to have discovered another fun activity to play with him (we’ll also kick the ball lightly now and then to let him chase after it) and a suitable ball for this. ^^
