Catherine and I were having our home-cooked dinner by the coffee table last evening with Darius sitting near us on the alphabet mat, when we suddenly noticed he was attempting to perform a new move:
According to Baby Center, the milestone of pulling up to a standing position should come before the cruising stage, but once again for Darius, he decided to do it the other way round instead. ^^|
Besides learning to pull himself up, Darius has also started to bend his knees to a sitting position while he’s in a standing position. According to the article mentioned above, it is not an easy feat and indeed, Darius is finding trouble accomplishing this by himself. So far we’ve been the one supporting him to make sure he doesn’t topple over when he bends his knees, easing him into his sitting position.
We do hope he will be able to successfully pull himself up soon, so that he would not always be looking at us with sad eyes and whine to ask us to pull himself up on a standing position. On the other hand though, that will mean greater risks of him injuring himself after he has gained more independence in his mobility.
