My family decided to have an early Mother’s Day celebration last Sunday by having a dinner at a neighbourhood coffee shop, ordering dishes of ‘Zhi Cha’ and chilli crabs.
I have been wanting to eat chilli crabs since Darius was born (that’s more than 9 months of craving), but we couldn’t as it would be very difficult for us to tend to him when our fingers are covered with chilli~ This time round, Catherine has been supportive in helping to look after Darius while I indulge in the crab feast (on my side, I passed some peeled crab meat to her).
While we were eating, Darius got a bit restless on the baby seat. He appeared to be rather sleepy after having his meals at home earlier, so we distracted him by talking/singing to him. We also decided to pass a small unused plate to him for him to explore and keep him awake.
Grabbing the plate, he became very interested and curious about it (there were some small patterns on it) and he kept flipping it over and over again, analysing it carefully. This continued for more than ten over minutes until he accidentally dropped it. The uncle from the ‘Zhi Cha’ stall was even kind enough to pass us a new plate for Darius.
This year’s Mother’s Day is very different from the previous ones we’ve been through, as our family (my parents’ side) now has 4 mothers — my mum, my elder sister, my sister-in-law and of course, Catherine! ^^
We haven’t thought of how to celebrate Mother’s Day for Catherine, but probably it will only be more meaningful when Darius has grown up and learnt to be appreciative of his mother, who went through a lot to bring him to this world and constantly showering him with love and guidance.

If you all dont mind, next time let him play with ice. I am sure you all can eat in peace while he is playing with the ice.
Hmm ice? Interesting… Might try next time but afraid he might ended up wetting his clothes.
