“What’s for dinner tonight? Cooking or I packet back?” I SMSed Catherine on my way home from work. This is a common question I ask almost every evening, as Catherine may or may not cook depending on the happenings during the day at home.
For example, if Darius has been misbehaving and resulting in her spending extra effort to coax him, then she wouldn’t have the extra energy to do the cooking for that day.
“Should we go swim? Ha.” was an unexpected reply I received after I’ve sent the message on Tuesday evening.
Catherine had been mentioning about going for weekly swim sessions on one of the weekday evenings, to get Darius accustomed to the pool more, and also to get me to exercise more. ^^|
As it was a last minute decision, we hurried ourselves with the travelling and packing preparations, and off we went to Woodlands Swimming Complex.
It had been a sunny afternoon, so the weather in the evening was nice.
Darius and I had already our swim wear worn, so there was no need for us to change our clothings.
So while Catherine was changing into her swimsuit, I brought Darius down into the pool first. I placed him in an unassisted standing position with the waters up to his kneecaps. Surprisingly, he managed to balance himself for around 10 seconds in that position. Looks like having his feet in the waters helped stabilise himself better.
When Catherine returned, we put on the neck float over his neck and let him float in the pool with it. However as before, his feet simply refused to kick and his whole body just stayed stiff like a statue. -_-|
We helped move him around while holding his feet to kick in the waters, and he showed a little improvement by kicking occassionally to keep him afloat. Still, looks like it will take quite a while before he would kick consistently in the water.
After the swim and baths, we headed to MacDonalds for dinner, and took a balloon for Darius. He showed interest in it by hitting or pushing at the balloon, but he lost interest in it pretty soon. This was probably his first contact with a balloon though.
