This Out-of-bounds zone is none other than a hospital, a place that toddlers under the age of 7 should avoid. We are not talking about maternity and children hospitals like Thomson Medical Centre or KK Hospital, but a general hospital such as the Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Novena.
So knowing the risks of Darius contracting viruses or germs from the hospital, why are we still visiting the place?
Well, my dad had been admitted to the hospital after a rather major surgery, and he was expected to be warded for a week or so. Knowing that seeing and accompanying Darius would make him happier and perhaps recover better, we decided to visit him along with Darius.
Since my last visit there, I had already checked that the ward that my dad was admitted is specially for orthopedic patients only. Since the patients’ problems are usually with their bones, there should be minimal risks of infection.
We were glad we made the visit, as Darius was in a very good mood and was playing happily with my dad, and also with my family members who were there. Previously, when we visited my parents at their home, Darius had not appeared as jovial as he was today. Probably he liked the new environment he was exposed with or just happened to be in a good mood. On the other hand, he might also have grown to be more accustomed to people in general, which is a good thing. ^^
After the visit, we went to the nearby United Square, and dropped by the Toy “R” Us store to find some new toys. Darius was still in a pretty good mood and so we helped him with his ‘shopping’. ^^
We also had our first experiences in feeding cereal to Darius while we were outside. It turned out to be a little messy but he had still obediently finish all of it. ^^|

lol, how cool. Darius went shopping.
Hi Brownie,
Haha when he grows up a bit more, we might be pulling him away from the toys on the shelves instead heh~ ^^|
Hee, when he starts walking, you’d spend more time chasing him around the store than shopping. ^^
On another note, are those Playmobil toys in Toys “R” Us?? They’re so rare in S’pore!
oh dear.. After Yvette became very sick after the hospital visit serveral months ago, we din dare to bring her to hospital again.
This place is really out of bound to most kids, especially babies.
It happened to Yvette? Oh dear, so it’s really due to the hospital visit ah…argh..
I really don’t know why he suddenly develop fever too. He was okay in the morning and suddenly woke up from the afternoon nap all hot.
Hi Mama Peanut,
Indeed, I’m sure as a boy, Darius will get over-excited upon seeing the tons of toys there. Discpline will come top priority not only on him, but on our wallets too~ ^^|
Yes those Playmobil toys can be found in Toys “R” Us. Agree it’s harder to find them now since Lego appears to be dominating them in the market.
Hi Sunflower,
Now I’m guilty for having brought Darius to the hospital. Poor boy has to suffer because of my misjudgement.
Yes.
Partly is still becos of the KL trip. But I guess, she is really hit by the hospital visit that I brought her along. :S
She was there in the hospital on the very night when my dad was admitted due to my both my bro and sis lost their HP.
