Darius in the Out of Bounds Zone

This Out-of-bounds zone is none other than a hospital, a place that toddlers under the age of 7 should avoid. We are not talking about maternity and children hospitals like Thomson Medical Centre or KK Hospital, but a general hospital such as the Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Novena.

So knowing the risks of Darius contracting viruses or germs from the hospital, why are we still visiting the place?

Well, my dad had been admitted to the hospital after a rather major surgery, and he was expected to be warded for a week or so. Knowing that seeing and accompanying Darius would make him happier and perhaps recover better, we decided to visit him along with Darius.

Since my last visit there, I had already checked that the ward that my dad was admitted is specially for orthopedic patients only. Since the patients’ problems are usually with their bones, there should be minimal risks of infection.

We were glad we made the visit, as Darius was in a very good mood and was playing happily with my dad, and also with my family members who were there. Previously, when we visited my parents at their home, Darius had not appeared as jovial as he was today. Probably he liked the new environment he was exposed with or just happened to be in a good mood. On the other hand, he might also have grown to be more accustomed to people in general, which is a good thing. ^^

Darius and his grandfather

After the visit, we went to the nearby United Square, and dropped by the Toy “R” Us store to find some new toys. Darius was still in a pretty good mood and so we helped him with his ‘shopping’. ^^

We also had our first experiences in feeding cereal to Darius while we were outside. It turned out to be a little messy but he had still obediently finish all of it. ^^|
