Since we started letting Darius sit down in the bathtub (see New Method in Bathing Darius), he had started to show interest in the shower head and the water coming out from it.
From being always in his ‘surrender’ pose, he will now place his hands forward and feel the water showering down on them. Does this mean he’s more receptive to water splashing down on him now? If so, he will be able to enjoy himself more when we bring him to swimming pools and splash parks. ^^
We have also started feeding him some baby snacks slightly before his mealtimes. By placing it on our hands, we encourage him to stretch out his hand to pick up the star-shaped snack and put it into his mouth himself. First step to self-feeding? ^^|
In this final video, Catherine was playing a ‘handkerchief game’ with Darius by placing his handkerchief on top of his head, and he will happily take it down with his hand and then show it to her.
It sure is fun playing games like this with Darius nowadays, since he’s getting more responsive and smiling a lot more than before. ^^

Haha yes it is always fun to play with baby. Do toddlers like something on their head? I recently played with a 17 months, I placed a doll on her head, she laughed happily and nodded her head to drop the doll. Then she wanted me to do the same thing again and again.
Hi Brownie,
Haha didn’t know other kids enjoy having something on their heads too. We haven’t tried the trick on our nephews so not sure if they would enjoy it too. May try it someday soon~ ^^
Look at your son feeding himself, made me think of Yvette.
She dont like to feed herself. Whenever I gave her the biscuit, she will still open her mouth big big to let me fed her even though I tried to push her hand tat is holding a biscuit into her mouth. :S
Hi Sunflower,
I see. For Darius, he loves to put things into his mouth to chew, but when he realises it’s something edible (probably by its taste), he will push or throw it away. This happens for the teething rusks that we gave him; he would put it into his mouth and then quickly pull it out after licking on it. For this star-shaped snack, it took him quite a while to slowly accept putting it into his mouth too. ^^
