One month ago, we visited North Point’s new wing when it just opened and we were disappointed with its lack of baby and nursing amenities (see Our Trip to Northpoint’s New Wing). Yes, the Baby Rooms were there, but they were devoid of any furniture or usable amenities.
Since the mall had just been opened then, we thought it was just a slip in the management to set up the rooms in time, so we decided to give a mall another chance.
Today, at least a month already since it had opened, we were atonished to see that the Baby Rooms were still in the same state as a month ago! The only thing working in the room was the coldwater tap and the sliding door. One of the two ‘nursing rooms’ in the Baby Room on the ground floor was completely empty, while the other room had only a dusty and dirty plastic chair (we had to wipe it clean before anyone could even sit on it).
There was no couch, no place to change diapers and the hot/cold water dispensers were not working. We thought the Baby Room at the ground floor was perhaps an exception but when we went to the other floors, we realised the state of the rooms was as bad too.
What had happened to the management? If they felt Baby Rooms were unnecessary in their mall, then they shouldn’t have built them at all in the first place. What’s the point of having the rooms there but rendering it useless to anyone?
We were disappointed of course once again, and we were certainly not alone. A mother in the same room was atonished and angry when she tried to change her child’s diapers and realised the only place she could put him on was the cold, hard concrete table top beside the sink.
The mall had better do something quick before more angry parents decide to boycott the place.
(Cat: We had to feed Darius in his stroller in the small room with me sitting on the chair but Darius didn’t finish his feed in the end… He doesn’t seem to like the atmosphere in the room and kept fidgeting.)

Hi,
Haven’t been to Great World City for quite a while already as it’s not very accessible by public transport. Indeed, I don’t recall interesting shops there too…
I think someone needs to raise this to the management. It could just be a fall short on the contractor they engaged and they are not aware.
Hi Chloe,
I’ve sent an email to their management Fraser Centrepoint yesterday on this but no reply from them so far… -_-|
