I’ve been using cloth diapers on him during the day. From his first morning bath at 10am til 6pm bath at night. After 9pm, it’s Huggies Ultra all the way til early morning about 5-6am, then Huggies Dry Comfort.

It’s cost-saving, environmental friendly and so far leakproof with the inserts being seasoned (thus very absorbent) after many washes. It was leaking (see ‘About Diapering‘) when I used them on him @ 1-2months old, due to his thin thighs. Now, they are really fat and thus no gap=no leakage!

Sure it’s a lot of washing for me but he looks really comfy in it, plus it’s so attractive. I adore the colours. It makes me feel good looking at him…hee. I’ll use about 4 bumwears in a day and 5 if he poops. I only have eight of them so must wash them daily. I can’t stand throwing them aside to wait for washing with our laundry cos they smell.

Everytime after I change him, I just dump them into the soaking pail with Kodomo detergent and wash all of them at night together with his clothing, hankies used for the day. Inserts are more difficult to dry but I have extra inserts so it’s alright.

He’s not fully cloth diapered though. If I feel too tired in the morning due to wakings the night before, I would just use Huggies Dry Comfort for the day. And for outings, it’s a must to use disposables. I’m afraid there might still be accidental leakage and also they are too bulky to carry in the bag.
