Darius is finally 3 months and no longer a newborn. He is now an active and responsive infant who has voluntary control of his body and getting more demanding. Yelling seemed to be his way of communication nowadays. He also spends time watching his hands, putting his right hand into his mouth and grasping things.
His development at 3 months old:
- Squeals, gurgles and coos
- Blow bubbles
- Brings his right hand to his mouth and observes it.
- Take swipes at dangling objects with both hands
- Grasps objects firmly and shakes them
- Begins to imitate some sounds we make
- Imitates some of our facial expressions
- Recognises his parents’ face (Smiles actively when we say ‘Good morning’ to him or sing songs to him)
Behaviour at 3 months old:
- Enjoys playing with people.
- Gets frustrated and bored when lying down for too long. Starts yelling (Ahhh!!!pause..Ahhh!) for us to carry him.
- Likes to be carried in the upright position with head peering over our shoulder. Attempts to carry him in cradling position when he does not want to sleep will result in crying and yelling badly.
- Likes to kick actively and very high into the air.
- Dislikes tummy down position
- Enjoys sitting up on our laps to observe the surroundings
- Coos and wave his arms and legs excitedly when he sees something he likes.
- Able to take longer naps now from at least 30 mins to 2 hours.
- Getting more cranky and fussier. Cries often at things he dislikes. (Loud/new sound, new environment, tiredness)

Starting to wear 3-6months clothing..though rather big

Physical Development:
- He drinks 120ml per feed at 3 hour intervals.
- Is still waking up at 5am for a morning feed despite dream feed at 11:30pm.
- He measures 64 cm in height.
