To be precise, it should be ‘Singapore is a small island afterall…’
Anyway, why I’m saying this all of a sudden is because of an incident I just came across moments ago.
Let me start with what happened on 15th July 2008, the day Darius was born:
(See A long battle of 23 hours… on Cat’s delivery)
Cat was pushed into the Observation Ward 1 in the labour ward, and I was denied access into the room. All I could do was to wait outside. Though I tried on several occassions to sneak in, they weren’t successful.
I was then advised by the nurse to wait in the Waiting Lounge and the staff will call for me via the Public Announcement system.
And so I went up, waiting patiently for the call. At that moment, I met another father (not father-to-be as he was expecting his second child) there by the name of Kevin. We had quite a long chat, thinking that it would help make the waiting time passed by quicker.
We discussed about milk powder (which affected my decision to feed Similac to Darius), well-known paediatricians, about Doctor Yvonne Chan (who was their gynae for both children) etc.
His wife was coincidentally in Observation Ward 1, but was pushed to the Birth Ward an hour or more before us.
When Cat was finally pushed to the Birth Ward too, I met Kevin again, this time with his newborn beside him. His wife had also gone through an emergency C-section after trying for natural delivery.
Although we did exchange contacts, I was not able to really catch up with him due to Cat’s condition and implications after the delivery.
It was until today, after he left a comment on our blog, that Cat and I discovered that he was the owner of a blog titled The Upperroom that Cat had been reading for quite a while (I only started reading baby blogs recently, and read his last Friday).
During that last visit to his blog, I realised that the author’s baby was also born on 15th July 2008, and was telling myself, “What a coincidence! I wonder if his baby was also delivered in Thomson Medical Centre? If so, perhaps his baby was in the same nursery as Darius!”

Little did I know that Kevin is the father of his two children, Talia Ann and Thaddeus Aaron! What a small world this is indeed!
If only I had checked out his About page, I might have noticed who he was. ^^|
I started to think that this is all part of God’s plan, and I thank Him for making me meet up with Kevin in TMC, as he sure provided me with reassurance and valuable information that helped me through Cat’s delivery and taking care of Darius.
God bless Kevin and his family!

Cat’s been reading for a while? But no comments from her leh.
Amen! And may God bless your family too. Be highly favored and deeply loved.
I believe she prefers reading blogs than writing comments in them. ^^
Thanks, and God bless you too!
