Visit to the Doctor- 33 weeks 5 days

Went to visit the doctor again after two weeks.

Wow, baby Darius has grown to a whopping 2.517kg when two weeks ago, he’s only 1.7kg. No wonder I felt that my stomach has become much bigger last weekend and having more difficulty moving around.

Dr Wong says this weight is above average. Oh dear, now I’m worried he’ll be a 3.6kg baby during delivery. It will be difficult for me as I want a natural vaginal birth. I was hoping he’ll just be 3kg or slightly over but I guess it’s not possible anymore since I have 7 more weeks to go and he’s already 2.5kg now.

It’s strange because I’ve not being eating very much, usually bread and noodles and have been having some diarrhoea episodes this two weeks. So where did he get his nutrients from? Erh.. was it due to the fast food which I eat for my dinner sometimes? or are breads packed with lot more calories than we think? I’m enjoying the fish burgers from MOS lately, coupled with a croquette and fries. It helps when I don’t have much appetite in the evenings. I also think nothing of going to Mac and eating the fries there. Maybe… he gets calories from there, though not nutritious at all. >.<

Had a scare of gestational diabetes two weeks ago when I tested my urine but yesterday testing was fine. So everything’s great so far.

This time he moved more during the scan and the doc wasn’t able to take a nice picture. His head is now turned down at my pelvic area. His legs are curled towards my right side now and he often gives me a kick. He moves more when I’m feeling hungry as when I’m doing work, I tend to put off eating. Then he’ll keep moving as if saying, ‘I want my food!’ and I will have to move to get some food.

Dr Wong also gave us an admission letter to pass to the delivery ward when I’m in labour. And we are informed by her to call the hospital since we want to donate the cord blood. We don’t intend to store it but felt it will benefit others if they receive the cord blood through the Singapore Cord Blood Bank. We will have to sign a contract with them for consent. Blood will be drawn from me during the delivery for testing of abnormalities and Dr Wong will collect the cord blood.
