Time for another visit to see the little one!

We reached there on the dot and happily went in immediately. It’s the first time we didn’t had to wait. In and out in a flash.

The doctor measured my weight (has gone up to 52.3kg) and did the scan on my tummy. Ooh… the KY jelly was very cold on my stomach, I felt uncomfortable when she placed the probe on me. Baby as usual was cautious and didn’t move at all. We just saw him opening and closing his mouth. Dr Wong immediately focused on the face and zoomed in on it. We saw the side profile of his face first. Wow, he has a sharp nose which is quite visible. Reminded me of my hubby’s. She then showed us the frontal view of his face with the eye sockets, nose and mouth. The screen wasn’t too clear but if we tried hard enough, we could still made them out.

She scanned the heart, the spine and moved on to the legs. Baby is 598g now, double the size of last month’s. A little disappointed that baby was not showing his activeness on screen again but since I always feel his movements, it’s alright.

We’ve always been talking about what Baby Darius looks like. Will he have my hubby’s small eyes and sharp nose? Or my big eyes? From what I’ve observed about people’s features, usually the top half of the face belongs to one’s parent and the bottom half such as chin and mouth belong to the other parent’s. Dr Wong pointed out his cheek outline to us and I was surprised that it looked like mine. I have an odd shaped chin structure . So does that mean that the bottom half of his face will be like mine and the top part will be my hubby’s? Then he will have small eyes and sharp nose.

Hubby protest about it because he wants our baby to have big eyes like mine so he will be handsome…haha. He thinks his small eyes is not a good trait. For me, I would want my baby to look like his father with small eyes because he will be a miniature of him. If I have a girl, I would want her to look like me.

So the consultation ended quickly with Dr Wong only asking me about my constipation problem. She advised me to drink the constipation medicine everyday to soften the stools. I had not been constantly drinking it since last month when she prescribed it. That day I had a bad case of constipation and it took me 1 and a half hour in the toilet. I think I should listen to her advice to drink it consistently everyday. It’s actually a kind of sugar and pretty harmless but after drinking it, my throat always feel very sweet and heaty. Have to down water immediately. With all the vitamins (Calcium tablets, Fish oil capsules, multi-vitamins) I have to take, I didn’t feel like taking another medicine daily. But for my well-being,I have no choice and will have to take it.
