When we first knew Catherine was pregnant, we discussed amongst ourselves when we would start letting our parents and friends know about the news. Knowing that the first few weeks were unpredictable and high risk, we decided not to tell anybody about it until she is two to three months into pregnancy. That was with the exception of Catherine’s parents, as she needed assistance from her mum.
After the second appointment with the gynae last Thursday, and knowing at least our baby was healthy thus far, it came to the time when we have to decide if we are to let my parents know about the news.
After a short discussion, we decided that it was best to let them know sooner than later, since it was good news for them. I will be accompanying my dad for a medical appointment tomorrow morning, so that would be a good opportunity to let him know about Catherine’s pregnancy first. We will then let the rest of my family know about the news. Hopefully everything will turn out well.
